Color Me, a coloring app best

# UPDATED: Version 1.2 is now out with 11 new drawings to be colored! #

There are several coloring apps already out there and some of the are very good. But making a great coloring app is not an easy task and I believe that the guys who made Color Me actually got it.

What makes an app great are the little details. From the quality of the drawings, the quick response when you touch a part to color it, the interaction with the tools, the choice of colors. Color Me is got it all! My 3 yo said out of his head he loved it (believe, having seen a lot of apps, he is very picky)!

Color Me, by Sid On. 99¢

More info from the developer:

A coloring booklet for children at the age of 2-6 years. Diverse pictures and color palette will trigger the development of your child’s imagination and shape his/her senses.

A very friendly and intuitive application enables your child to easily create extraordinary pictures.

Only a touch of a finger and the selected element of the coloring will be filled with colors.

Shaking the iPhone will cause the cleansing of the picture and therefore provides endless possibilities for coloring of the pictures.

It is also possible to save the masterpieces of your child in the image gallery. Then the child will be able to place them on the desktop of your device..

Allow your child to discover the world of colors by means of “Color Me!”

Preschool Connect the Dots gets it right

From the makers of TOP 10 APP Shape Builder, here’s what was missing for the iPhone: a connecting-the-dots app. And Preschool Connect the Dots is a perfect fit. Simply touch the numbers or letters in sequence to reveal images. With great illustrations, sound and over 200 puzzles, this certainly a must have!

Preschool Connect the Dots, by Touchscreen Preschool Games. 99¢

More from the developer’s site:

Brought to you by the creators of Shape Builder – the Preschool Puzzle Learning Game, which was picked as both an Apple Staff Favorite and an iTunes App Store Essential for Toddlers.

The Preschool Connect the Dots Game bridges the gap between the traditional “Dot to dot” game and 21st century technology! Learning has never been so mobile(TM).

Children can “tap” or “draw” to connect sequential numbers (123), upper case letters (ABC), and lower case letters (abc). Joining all the dots forms the outline of the shape and reveals the beautifully illustrated image, a really fun sound effect, and the object name spoken by a speech therapist that specializes in early childhood development!

With over 200 puzzles, children can randomly play from all.

Circus Find: Where’s my nose?!

Here’s an app explores a theme not much talked about: the circus! In this cute app, the clown loses his nose and we have to help him find it throughout the circus. It is an interactive search and find game with great illustrations and music. It has become rapidly one of my 3 yo. favorites. He has been playing with it over and over since we have it installed!

From the same developers, you may also find ‘Where’s Gumbo‘, another search and find interactive game. But Circus Find is a huge improve in all terms. Certainly worth the buy!

Circus Find, by Jacob Favre. ¢99 (reduced price for a limited time)

Here’s a quote from the developers:

Things aren’t always what they seem in this Circus tent! Created by a mom and a dad, Circus Search is a fun, interactive book that gets kids thinking about the world a little differently. Join us inside the big top as we search for our clown’s missing nose — You never know where it will turn up!

Entertain your children while encouraging problem solving skills, shape recognition and fine motor development.
• Push the elephant on his balance ball
• Pop some balloons
• Watch the tightrope walker try to stay balanced
• Light the fuse and watch the human cannon-ball blast off!
• and much, much more!

Circus Find encourages children to explore each scene before revealing the big picture. Everything isn’t always what you think it is when you only see a small part of the scene, and as a parent, you can help encourage creative thinking and problem solving by having your child guess what’s next.

Touch, explore and discover all the amazing things this circus has to offer!

8 Planets, solar system on your kids’ hand!

8 Planets, iPhone app for kids

Here is one of a kind: 8 Planets is a great app to learn the names and the position of the planets in our solar system while improving spelling and learning letters. My 3 yo boy (who is, of course, crazy about the Space) has memorized right away all the planets names and was even guessing right the missing letters.

If some subjects are really well covered in terms of apps, others like planets and Space are not. And 8 Planets certainly does a great job on it!

Little Cook, play and learn with food

little_cook

Here is a fairly different app. One that plays with food as ingredients for meals and has a little tester that will give her opinion or your cooking trials. Go around in the kitchen, mix eggs and chocolate, make a crazy soup or breakfast. All is worth while learning ingredients and getting to enjoy more and more to be around the wonderful world of food.

This is the first app I’ve seen in this category and certainly a good one to keep around.
