OK, here we open a WHOLE different and beautiful chapter as far as iPhone apps go: the narrated and illustrated books. They can be visually beautiful, with nice music and with a rich storyline, plus some interaction on the kid’s side.

The first one I’d like to talk about is Little Bella’s I Close My Eyes.

It comes with 12 short movies where goes when she Bella closes her eyes and uses her imagination. Each one beautifully illustrated with great narration and music. The narration comes together with the text and some interaction, so kids can start relating what they hear with what they read. I’ve found it advanced as far as reading goes for my 3 yo. but the app is intended for children from 3 to 9 so the little ones have fun listening to the story and reading the text.

It might be used as a bed time story as Bella goes to sleep at the end, but for now I’m keeping the iPhone moments for during the day and having real books and parents readings at nights. Call me old fashioned!
